Trick or Treat Warm-ups

IMAGE Before you send your little one's out for a night of Trick or Treating, warm them (and yourself) with these delicious, easy to make hot drinks.

Hot Chocolate

To make hot chocolate, combine 1/2 cup of water and 2 ounces of semisweet chocolate in a medium-size saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the chocolate is melted. Bring the mixture to a boil for 2 minutes, then reduce the heat to low. Stir in 3 cups of whole milk and a dash of salt. Warm the mixture for 5 to 7 minutes or until it is heated through.

For variations, you can add a dash of cinnamon to create Mexican hot chocolate or a chocolate chips for a double chocolate drink. To make mint hot chocolate, substitute mint chocolate chips (about 1/2 cup) for the plain chocolate squares.

Makes 4 servings.

Yum!
